Payroll Officers

The Organisation

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) protects Australia and Australians from threats to their security. In a complex, challenging and changing security environment, our success is built on the imagination and intelligence of our team. ASIO's people are ordinary Australians but they do extraordinary things – they are our most important asset. To be successful in our mission, we need talented people who are highly capable, dedicated, adaptable and resilient.

We seek to reflect the diversity of the community we protect. ASIO is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, where all staff are valued and respected. We welcome applications from all eligible candidates, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious affiliation, age or disability. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply. We are secretive about what we do, not what we value.

The Opportunity

The Pay Services Team in the Finance and Pay Services Branch provides a critical function in the day to day operations of ASIO.

We are seeking enthusiastic team players who care about ensuring people get paid correctly and on time. Whilst previous payroll experience is desirable, it's not essential, you just need to love numbers.

We are seeking officers who are self-motivated, willing to learn (on the job training will be provided) and have a desire for providing exceptional customer service to our staff.

As a dedicated team player, you will have a confident and approachable manner with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport. Your administrative and organisational skills, along with your attention to detail will ensure Pay Services achieves its deliverables. You will have an ability to lead, train, mentor and support junior team members within the team.

The Pay Services area is a busy and dynamic environment where innovation and business process improvement are encouraged.
